As usual we’re taking a summer break and giving you a little more time to get through a little more reading. For August and September we will be reading NW by Zadie Smith.

Zadie Smith (born on 25 October 1975) is a British novelist, essayist and short story writer.

In 2003, she was included on Granta’s list of 20 best young authors, and was also included in the 2013 list. She joined New York University‘s Creative Writing Program as a tenured professor on September 1, 2010. Smith has won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2006 and her novel White Teeth was included in Time magazine’s TIME 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005 list. White Teeth was also made into a critically praised TV adaptation, available here on 4od.

See you all Thursday, 12th September 2013 at 7pm at Bokship to hear what you all think! We may add another book to our summer reading list and read both alongside one another, as a comparison exercise but until that’s been decided on – suggestions always welcome! – we thought we’d let you get on with Zadie…
