MARCH // The Female Body, Margret Atwood – Wednesday, 12th March 2014, 7pm Finally we’re doing Atwood … PDF version available here

APRIL // a short story (tbc) taken from the anthology Inside and Other Short Fiction: Japanese Women by Japanese Women, ed. Ruth Ozeki  – Wednesday, 9th April 2014, 7pm Published in 2006 this collection serves as ‘a provocative introduction to notable contemporary literature by Japanese women’. 

MAY // No Sweetness Here, Ama Ata Aidoo read by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie with Flawless, Beyonce ft. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie  – Wednesday, 14th May 2014, 7pm Looking not only at the a short story but also ideas of reader / author / voice / audio we will listen to this reading of the short story No Sweetness Here by Ama Ata Aidoo and Flawless, taken from the new self-titled Beyonce album.

JUNE // Crave, Sarah Kane – Wednesday, 11th June 2014, 7pm Sarah Kane (3 February 1971 – 20 February 1999) was an Englishplaywright. Her plays deal with themes of redemptive love, sexual desire, pain, torture — both physical and psychological — and death. They are characterised by a poetic intensity, pared-down language, exploration of theatrical form and, in her earlier work, the use of extreme and violent stage action.
